Frequently Asked Questions

I offer one to one coaching mostly in person.

I do some virtual training over zoom and I’m available by text to my clients everyday.

Are your methods “ purely positive”?

Good question! In a nutshell I’d say no. The gentle parenting mode of dog training has its place for certain breeds.

I find most dogs require and actually thrive when they receive clear information about structure and boundaries in their life. In fact the look of relief on my clients’ faces when they are given permission to add boundaries to their dog’s behavior tells a story all its own.

I use a ton of positivity in my training, lots of food rewards and praise. But I have very clear communication with my dogs about things that are simply unacceptable.

What services do you offer?
How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form leaving your phone number and I’ll call you back quickly. Or call me now on 415 948 7905

Most clients are prompted to call by a “pain point “ occurring in their relationship with their pup. In those cases, time is of the essence. I try to be as responsive as possible.

What makes you different?

I have over 40 yrs of experience in various dog sports with different breeds. I’m quick to diagnose and offer solutions that can be implemented fast.

I’m expensive on a per session basis but my methods work. So I don’t waste your time with multiple nonsense lessons. We get down to business and help you quickly. On average, my clients spend less with me than many other trainers because they see results quicker.

I have one specific issue I’d like to deal with. Is that ok?

Yes! We can look at specific issues if you wish, though usually they are symptoms of a broader issue in relationships with our pups. But yes we can look at one thing if you’d like

Where are you located? And what do sessions look like?

We are on the west side on Sonoma off Arnold Drive. Sessions are generally held in my purpose built training room or outdoors in a fenced 1 acre field.

We have a variety of teas, coffees and soft drinks and spend time getting to know each other and developing a custom program. I value your time as much as you value mine. I don’t waste time on nonsense. We chat, we get down to work, we achieve actionable results on day one.

Typically how many sessions do your clients need?

On average we see enormous improvement in 5-6 private lessons

For the full, reliable off leash behaviors many clients would like for their “dream dog” a couple more lessons may be needed.
